Each display is made up of about 9 panels of cut black paper
lined with tissue paper.
2016
It’s tricky to get it just right! I have to run up and down the stairs, and out onto the street, to check the details. Good job I’m quite fit :)
Low tech and somewhat backbreaking.

Angels brought cups of tea and soup to Mary, right?

I always choose a line from a Christmas carol; something that speaks of the Season.
2014
The first one I ever did fell down a lot, because I made it in three panels, not nine. It was too heavy for itself. I’ve still got it rolled up somewhere, but it’s quite raggedy. I got better at the technicalities quite quickly in subsequent years..!
Layering up the tissue paper is always fun. I loved doing these pink manes.
