  1. You are developing a rich and intriguing surface. Do you plan on taking the layers further? … on adding some of your more typical drawing on top of it? or some of both?

    • Hi john – I’m not totally sure yet! I think I am going to draw on it, perhaps in chinagraph pencil, then paint. Or ink? I might take it further first. I almost know what I am trying to achieve, but of course anything could happen. Wish I could have seen your exhibition… it sounds great. I’m glad my studio isn’t the only messy one.

      • Sounds like you you are up in the air still about which way to go with that surface … that seems like the right track to me.

Yes, the studio was a mess … and regularly becomes a mess. My wife always spots when a fellow artist or a client is coming by because I start scurrying about getting it straight and clean. Actually, I’ll y wife always spots or a fellow artist or a client is coming by because I start scurrying about getting it straight and clean. Actually I have to admit to straightening it up periodically; it seems to help get my head wrapped around the idea of making a fresh start. BUT … If it stays really neat for a long time though, I begin to suspect that I am being to safe … not obsessive, passionate, or crazy enough about the work … to forget about the studio!

Anyway … as I said before, nice work!
